Custom-fit Orthotics

Over-the-Counter Insoles

to fix the spacing problems I have

Custom-fit orthotics are designed to CORRECT common foot problems. An over-the-counter (eg. Dr. Scholls) insole you purchase at the grocery store or pharmacy will provide temporary relief at best. In fact, the following list describes the key differences between a custom-made orthotic and an over-the-counter insole.

1. Medical Advice -- Licensed Podiatrist vs. Grocery Store Clerk -- A custom-fit orthotic is prescribed by a licensed podiatrist. At orthoticsdirect.com, we obtain a mold of your feet and ask you to complete a detailed questionnaire. Based on the molds of your feet and your responses to the questionnaire, we fabricate a shoe insole to correct or relieve your specific foot problems. In addition, our licensed podiatrists can provide additional advice to help you with your specific problems.

2. Materials – Solid Support vs. Foam Padding -- Depending on your condition and the support you require, a licensed podiatrist will prescribe a rigid material to correct the problem. Fiberglass and graphite are the most commonly used materials in a custom orthotic. Obviously, a rigid material like that could be uncomfortable if it wasn’t molded to the exact contours of your foot. This is why we get an impression mold of both of your feet before we make your orthotics. That rigid material is then covered with foam padding for maximum comfort.

3. Results – Guaranteed Results vs. Guess Work – When you purchase a custom-made orthotic from OrthoticsDirect.com, your results are 100% guaranteed. In other words, if you don’t see results with your custom orthotic, you can send it back to us for a full refund. Once you have worn your grocery-store orthotics without results, what’s the next step? Where do you turn to correct the problem?

4. Longevity – Custom-fit Orthotics Last 5 to 10 Times Longer – Because of the materials used, a custom-made orthotic will last up to 5 to 10 times longer than an over-the-counter insole. This is critical because an over-the-counter insole will not provide the proper support for any significant length of time.

5. Peace of Mind – Custom-fit Orthotics Are Corrective – Depending on the type of foot problem you have, an over-the-counter insole could make the problem worse rather than correcting the problem. Trust in our 23 years of experience to prevent and relieve your foot pain.
